I'm leaning towards a Mage the Ascension-like system. This would be something like your power is similar to Arete, and instead of spheres, you have the Five Powers, and combinations of those Five Powers lead to what weaves you can know.

The problem is when keeping with canon, some people just have more potential for the Power in general, and can only work with the individual powers to a certain extent.

So, I'm trying to work on a way of figuring out what the potential is. Once a system for potential is in place, one could just buy up whichever trait they wanted, in the general experience point sytem that WW has for most of it's d10 games.

But, I'm still at a loss of how to determine potential.

Good character write ups?

A random factor, like rolling dice?

I'm just not sure what to do with it.

Any thoughts?

But, what if this should turn out to be a large game like the Cam? Theoretically, there could be a LOT of AS PCs. I mean, I don't expect it, but, I'd like some system in place in case that *does* turn out to be the case.

Well:

A) We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. If we get that far, cool. But we need a system in place to determine how someone gets potential, so when we have an approval system, we'll have something to approve. =)

B) A system that can be LARP or TT is a good idea. Similar to the NWoD system, perhaps. Though, I'm okay with not using cards. ;)

You can also use a double check system to make min-maxing more challenging, e.g. touching the Source is X + Randomiser, while spinning the web is Y (Element value?) + Randomiser.
